Best Artificial Flowers and Plants for Indoors

Best Artificial Flowers and Plants for Indoors

Ok, I know what you’re thinking…I just made a post about the best indoor house plants and now I’m telling you it’s justified to have fake flowers and plants for indoors. Confusing, I know. But the reality is, sometimes there are spots in your house where having a plant is just not ideal for sunlight or watering purposes, but you want a plant there anyway. Well, I’m here to tell you that the solution to this is very easy, and there are some stores that I’ve found to have very lifelike fake flowers and plants! For as many real houseplants as we have throughout our house (not to mention all the real plants we have to take care of outside), we have probably twice that amount in fake plants. I just love how much subtle color and softness they add to a room, and you can change them out with the seasons if you so choose.

Here’s my roundup of all our fake houseplants and where we got them from!

Michael’s

I created this arrangement for our bedroom when we first moved into the house about 3 years ago, and it has stood the test of time because it matches our bedding perfectly and reminds me of the flowers we had at our wedding. The dead giveaway that these flowers are not real, of course, is the sand and shell bed beneath the flowers, but it is so reminiscent of our favorite island, Nantucket, that I just couldn’t resist throwing a beachy flare in there to add to our bedroom. These artificial lilies and hydrangeas are from Michael’s, and the quality of the flower petals is really stunning; the texture is just about as close to a real lily or hydrangea that you could imagine. They also sell a fantastic assortment of all kinds of flowers in individual stems, so you can create your own arrangement as well as put them in whatever kind of base you would like.

Home Goods

The next location where I’ve had great success in finding artificial flowers for centerpieces is Home Goods. We happen to be located very close to, in my opinion, the best Home Goods I’ve ever set foot in (of course I’m biased here), but in complete actuality I’ve gotten so many beautiful and very functional things from this particular Home Goods, so I am now and will be until further notice, a loyal customer of theirs. The fake plants I’ve gotten from there I am completely obsessed with, and they are the pink roses in our upstairs hallway, lavender in our main entryway, and the blue hydrangeas in our living room above. (Disclaimer: The Home Goods website doesn’t always have the exact arrangement that I picked up at our nearest location, but I’ll do my best to link similar ones in this post.)

At Home

This latest addition to our living room bar cart I found at At Home, the ultimate decor superstore. I must warn you, if you don’t have a plan before going in this store, you will undoubtedly leave with more than you came with, and then some. Nevertheless, today I went in with a mission to find something tall and thin-ish that could fit in the center of our bar cart. They had so many options, although not all of the flowers were as lifelike as the selection at Michael’s. However, the price point is slightly lower, and I was able to find this beautiful arrangement above. Isn’t it just the cutest thing?!

And that’s all I got! Let me know if you find some other good places to snag some artificial greenery for your home. I’m all ears!
