Our Engagement Photos on Nantucket Island!

Our Engagement Photos on Nantucket Island!
Steps Beach

These photos are now going on 3 years old, but I couldn’t resist sharing them with you all, simply because they are just too beautiful not to share and they bring back such happy memories of our wedding planning! We worked with Rebecca Love Photography for our engagement and wedding photos and could not have picked a better match to document our big day and the lead up to it.

Steps Beach

We walked around the island to capture some photos at each of our favorite spots. But since our photographers are natives of Nantucket, we were able to find some “golden nugget” spots in between each of those. And those photos, I must say, are some of my favorites.

Sankaty Lighthouse from the viewpoint of Eel Point Road

The story behind this photo (above) is that we were driving from Sankaty lighthouse in ‘Sconset to Steps Beach, when our photographer stopped and said that she wanted to get a few photos of us in front of the lighthouse from this vantage point. I proceeded to casually lean back onto one of the fence posts in anticipation of a candid photo, when I heard a snap from the fence post below me. I immediately shrieked and jumped up, horrified that I had actually potentially broken a very old fence post in ‘Sconset. Very thankfully, I had not (our photographer confirmed this) and we burst out laughing in relief. It made for a pretty good picture; I think!

Steps Beach at sunset!

The last stop during our session was Steps Beach at sunset. If you’ve ever spent some time on Nantucket, you know that this is simply the best place to capture an epic sunset beachside, so we couldn’t resist capturing some photos there for our engagement session. Our photographers did an absolutely incredible job capturing the colors of that evening, and I realized after we got the photos back how well our outfits coordinated with the colors of the water and sky. This night was so serendipitous and is one we will never forget!
